Learn on the tools professionals actually pay for
Free versions of AI tools are limited and change constantly. In our AI Lab, students practise on premium, paid tools during supervised sessions, so they learn the real workflows used at work, without families buying a stack of subscriptions.
What the lab includes
Exact tools vary by course and change as better ones appear. These are the categories every relevant course covers.
- Premium AI assistantsPaid tiers of leading chat assistants for research, writing, analysis and reasoning, with longer context and stronger models.
- AI coding assistantsAI pair-programmers inside a code editor, used the way professional developers use them: to explain, review and speed up, not to replace thinking.
- Automation platformsWorkflow tools such as n8n, Make and Zapier for building automations and AI agents on real business processes.
- AI image, video and voiceGenerative tools for design, thumbnails, short video and voice-over, with lessons on copyright and honest disclosure.
- Design and prototypingProfessional UI and graphic design tools with AI features for wireframes, brand kits and social content.
- Data and analyticsSpreadsheet AI, SQL environments, Power BI and Python notebooks with real datasets.
- Cloud and security labsSandboxed cloud accounts and security practice environments for hands-on DevOps and ethical hacking exercises.
- Build and publishHosting, domains and app-builder platforms so students can publish their projects for real users.
Why premium tools matter for learning
The gap between the free and paid versions of AI tools is large. Paid tiers give access to stronger models, larger files, longer conversations, image and data analysis, and features like custom assistants and API access. A student who only ever uses free tiers learns a limited, frustrating version of the technology.
More importantly, the professional value is not in the tool itself but in the workflow: how you break a task down, write a clear brief, check the output, and combine several tools into one result. Those workflows can only be practised on tools capable enough to support them.
How we keep it safe and honest
- Children's sessions use age-appropriate settings and are always supervised by the tutor.
- Students learn to verify AI output and never present AI work as their own in school assessments.
- We teach privacy basics: what not to paste into an AI tool, and how to protect personal and client data.
- Account access stays with Universal Tutor Hub; we do not share personal subscriptions or passwords with students.

AI Lab questions
Do I need to buy any subscriptions?
No. Premium tools needed for class are provided during sessions and set projects at no extra cost. Some students later choose to buy their own subscription once they know which tools they need for their work.
Can my child use the tools outside class?
Lab access is for supervised sessions and assigned projects. For younger children this is deliberate: the tutor is present whenever powerful tools are used.
Which tools exactly will we use?
It depends on the course. A design student will use different tools from an automation student. Your tutor lists the tools in your roadmap after the free demo.
