Build automations and AI agents that businesses pay for

Every business has repetitive work: copying data between apps, replying to the same enquiries, chasing invoices, preparing reports. AI automation removes it. Learn to design and build these systems on professional platforms, and turn the skill into a career or freelance income.

Why AI automation is one of the most practical skills today

Automation platforms such as n8n, Make and Zapier let you connect hundreds of apps (forms, spreadsheets, CRMs, email, calendars, payment systems, messaging tools) and move data between them automatically. Adding an AI step means the workflow can also read, classify, summarise and write: sorting support emails, qualifying leads, drafting replies, extracting data from invoices.

Small and medium businesses everywhere, from clinics in Lahore to agencies in London, need this work done and rarely have someone in-house who can do it. That makes automation one of the most direct routes from learning to earning for students and freelancers. It also does not require a computer science degree; it requires clear process thinking, careful testing and good communication.

How you will learn

You will build, not watch. From week one, each session is a live build with your tutor on real platforms from our AI Lab. Projects are modelled on actual client requests, so by the end you have a portfolio that looks like professional work, because it is.

Course roadmap

  1. Thinking in workflows

Mapping a business process, finding the repetitive steps, and designing triggers, actions and conditions.

  2. Zapier and Make foundations

Building your first multi-step automations with forms, sheets and email.

  3. n8n in depth

Self-hosted and cloud n8n, nodes, expressions, and why many professionals prefer it.

  4. APIs and webhooks

Reading API documentation, authentication, and connecting apps that have no ready-made integration.

  5. Adding AI steps

Classification, extraction, summarising and drafting with language models inside workflows.

  6. AI agents

Agents that choose tools, look up data and act, with guardrails and human approval steps.

  7. WhatsApp, CRM and email automation

Lead capture, follow-ups, reminders and pipelines for real businesses.

  8. Reliability

Error handling, retries, logging, alerts, and protecting customer data.

  9. Packaging and selling

Scoping a client job, pricing, documentation and handover.

Portfolio projects

  • Lead capture to CRM

Website form leads scored by AI, added to a CRM, and followed up automatically.

  • Inbox triage agent

An agent that sorts emails, drafts replies for approval and flags urgent messages.

  • Invoice data extraction

PDFs and images read by AI, checked, and written into accounting sheets.

  • Appointment reminders

Calendar bookings with automatic WhatsApp or SMS reminders and no-show follow-ups.

  • Weekly report bot

Data pulled from several tools into a summary report sent every Monday.

Careers and freelancing

Graduates of this course typically go in one of three directions: freelancing on platforms such as Upwork and Fiverr or with local businesses; joining agencies as automation or operations specialists; or applying automation inside their own business or job. We include a module on finding clients and pricing work, and our freelancing course goes further for students who want to build a full freelance practice.

What you need

A laptop and reliable internet. No coding is required to start; you will learn enough about APIs and simple JavaScript expressions along the way. Students with some coding experience can move quickly into custom code nodes and self-hosting.

AI automation questions

Which is better to learn: n8n, Make or Zapier?

All three. Zapier is the easiest and most widely used, Make is powerful and visual, and n8n is flexible, developer-friendly and can be self-hosted. Clients use all of them, so we teach the shared concepts and when to choose each.

Do I need to know programming?

No. You will pick up the basics of JSON, APIs and simple expressions during the course. If you want to go deeper, the generative AI development course adds Python.

Can I really earn from automation?

Many businesses pay for automation because it saves staff time every month. Earnings depend on your skill, portfolio and how you find clients, which is why the course includes portfolio projects and a module on selling your services. We do not promise income figures.

What is an AI agent?

An AI agent is a system where a language model decides which steps or tools to use to achieve a goal, such as looking up an order and drafting a reply. We teach agents with clear limits and human approval, because unchecked agents make costly mistakes.
