Online therapy and counselling

A safe space to talk, and practical ways forward

Therapy gives you time with a trained professional who listens without judging and helps you understand what is keeping you stuck. Our clinical psychologists and counsellors use evidence-based approaches such as CBT to help you feel better and cope better.

If you are in crisis right now

Our classes and consultations are not an emergency service. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger or thinking about suicide, call your local emergency number now. In Pakistan you can call Rescue 1122 or the Umang mental health helpline: 0311 7786264 (24/7). In the UK call 999 or Samaritans on 116 123; in the US call or text 988; in the UAE call 999.

What therapy can help with

People come to therapy for many reasons: anxiety and worry, low mood, stress at work or university, relationship and family difficulties, grief, low self-esteem, anger, loneliness, or simply feeling lost. You do not need a diagnosis to benefit from talking to a professional.

What a session is like

Sessions last about 50 minutes on a private video call. In the first sessions your therapist will understand your situation and agree goals with you. Later sessions combine talking with practical work: noticing thought patterns, testing new ways of responding, practising calming skills and making small changes between sessions. Many people notice progress within a few weeks, though everyone is different.

Approaches we use

  • Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT): a structured, well-researched therapy that looks at how thoughts, feelings and behaviours affect each other.
  • Acceptance and commitment approaches: learning to make room for difficult feelings while moving towards what matters to you.
  • Supportive counselling: space to talk through problems, decisions and losses.
  • Trauma-informed therapy: see trauma recovery support.

Therapy questions

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your goals. Some people find six to eight sessions helpful; others prefer longer-term support. Your therapist reviews progress with you regularly.

Can I choose a male or female therapist?

Yes. Tell us your preference and we will match you accordingly where possible.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes. Your therapist explains the limits of confidentiality at the start, which mainly relate to serious risk of harm.
